I am going to help a friend install a new floor in his 15 ft alum. We like the idea of fiber glassing the plywood and riveting it back to the hull…do you need to cloth it or can you just use resin? Any suggestions or info on any aspect of this job would be greatly appreciated.

Re: New floor

i'd cloth it.. a layer of 7.5 cloth is a good thing.. cause it just is.. also ,,if ya don't ,,the ply will split/check an goin' bare foot will be a problem in a major way..

plus ,, it's easy to do.. squeege out the air bubbles .. that's it..!! that simple..!!

wait for the 'perfect' set-up to trim with a razor knife..not to early.. an N O T to late..

one coat of resin will turn the cloth into 'rough' canvas.. just what you want for the perfect 'non-skid'...
