New boat - new Yamaha

The new Hurricane SD 187 I am ordering is outfitted for an F100 Yamaha (OB).<br />Can anyone tell me what I can expect as far as performance, quirks, maintenance issues, etc? ALso, when I checked the Yamaha OB site, there seem to be a number of F100 with various suffix identifiers. If your talking about the engine I think you will be happy as far a performance and maintenance. As for the suffix numbers you would have to give an example. Just guessing I would say they may be relevant to options.<br />Jabo

Jabo:<br />The suffixes only seem to show up on the performance test pages, so I have no clue as to which one will end up on the boat I have ordered, but they go like this:<br />F100TXRZ<br />F100TLRZ<br />F100TLRA<br />And I cant find explanations anywhere on their website as to the differences.<br />But thanks for the reply.<br />Mare

Mare<br />I believe it goes like this <br />T-Power Trim<br />X-Xtra long shaft<br />L-Long shaft ie: 25"<br />R-Remote Controls as opposed to a tiller.<br />A-I believe is the 2002 model year and Z wud be 2001, I might be out a season.<br />Cheers, David.

I have a 2000 model F100 and think it is great. It has loads of torque, is great on fuel and very quiet. It starts instantly when in normal summer temperatures.<br />I have 100 hours on it with only one complaint. It smokes periodically on startup. It doesn't matter hot or cold and it is random. No oil consumption is noted and the smoke is only for a few seconds.
