Neutra-Salt: Connect to power steering cooler?

I have a VP 5.7GXi-HF, serial 4012221122. Going to install a Neutra-Salt system. On the power steering cooler, there is a spare port which is blinded. Does anyone know if this port tees into the raw water cooling or the power steering fluid?

if its at one of the bell fittings, that is most likely a port for a zinc.

I'm almost certain it's a hose barb. It's the fitting where part 17 (a rubber cap) goes in the diagram below.

I will eventually, just wondering if anyone had the answer.

Just to follow up on this, I found a drawing confirming that the flusher connects to the PS cooler.

Note that the Neutra-Salt tie-in needs to be on the upstream side (suction side) of the raw water pump. On most Volvos the power steering cooler is on the upstream side of the pump. However, on Ford EFIs, and possibly others, the cooler is downstream of the raw water pump.

The OP configuration will support what he's doing, but I thought I would share how the configuration can differ for others.

FWIW, the Neutra Salt aftermarket kit has a T-fitting you splice into the raw water line feeding the raw water pump.

Yes, I realise that. The PS cooler is on the suction side on all cooling diagrams I’ve seen for my engine, it’s the first component to connect where the hose comes through the transom.

Because of this, I assume it’s ok to mount the neutra-salt reservoir lower than the PS cooler. After all, the impeller would suck the neutra-salt up when the solenoid valve is opened.
