Re: Need intake

try contacting these guys. Shane is very knowledgeable about old school boats and if he doesn't have one laying around, chances are he may know where to find one. Tell him Thomas referred you to him. They're rather busy, so be patient if you have to leave a message.

Have heard some bad things about lanier.

I used to work for them. The reasons I don't anymore are the 1099 taxes I had to endure (never again) and he can expect far too much from an employee at times. Lets just leave it at that... Some of the bad things you may have heard stem from the fact that these boats are indeed used. Folks that are first time buyers don't really understand the headaches involved with boats and don't get them checked out properly. Not all of the rot can be seen with the naked eye, as you well know. I don't know exactly what has been said or heard, but for the most part he is a pretty good guy.

If a new manifold can be bought, I'd go that route any day over the chances and troubles involved in finding problems in a used one, as long as its in the budget.
