Need Info on Glassport Boats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All,<br /> We just looked at an 86 Glassport open bow with a 120 hp I/O Mercruiser motor for fishing and I was wanting to know if these boats are hard to get parts for? I tried to look up the book value for it but the NADA guide didn't go back that far and it said that this boat was no longer being made. I don't want to buy a boat that I can't get parts for if I need them. Also are I/O motors easer to work on than outboards?<br /> Thanks for any and all info.... Larry

I tried for a couple hours yesterday to find info for you but came up with phone number which was disconnected. OK... but here is what I would do, call chamder of commerce in Corbin, KY & talk with them... get some names of people there. Call these guys plus a lot of these guys specialize in repairing boats they used to manufacturer when they go out of business. Also, the only thing you might have problem with is hull/fiberglass portion... as everything else is sub-contracted/boat supplier!!! This is going to take a little manual research on your part. Be glad to give you ideas but other than that would be to time consuming for me to do!!!<br /><br />

Fone_man,<br /> Thanks for trying to give me some insight on this boat. I will try what you said!! We had it out on the water yesterday for about 2 hours and it ran great. I am serious thinking about buying it.I think it will make us a good starter boat.. Thanks again.....Larry
