bought this 14 ft aluminum boat never put it on water. well got it home and was going to paint the inside of it and noticed these small holes there's 2 on each side below the waterline by the transom when they took off there fish finder and something else. what can I use to make sure it's covered and doesn't leak. will jb- weld work on this or can you recommend something else.
also the wood on my transom is rotted on one side we don't have a marine store in Colorado can I use treated wood on aluminum or will it have a effect on the aluminum. only have home depot and can I seal it with thompson water seal.
and last can I paint the inside of my boat with krylon exterior paint i'll put a primer paint first then paint or does it need to be marine paint.
sorry for the long rant but what to take my grandkids on it there so excited

Put SS bolts in the holes and use fender washers on both sides. Seal with 3M 4200 or 5200. If not available to you, JB weld should be fine.

NEVER use treated wood on aluminum. Marine grade plywood, or exterior grade. Seal with Flood UV or Cuprinol or spar varnish. With reasonable care out of the elements the new wood should last 10 years. NEVER, and I said NEVER, use Thompsons on anything (especially a boat subjected to water) unless you plan on re-doing it monthly.

Aluminum requires a zinc chromate or acid-etching primer. Then any exterior flat topcoat. That's if you want a showboat that looks nice and don't plan on using it. The paint is gone from your boat now because people walked on it. In my experience a repaint will end up looking worse than it is now in a couple of years.

Use 3M 5200 Adhesive Sealant under the washers. Usually, the big box stores will carry a tube of it. JB Weld will work, too.

If they have "good both sides" ext grade that would be best. If not just get the best one they have and of course hand select the piece.

Flood is an outside wood treatment that you might use on your wood deck. Its probably on the shelf next to the inferior Thompsons. Just google it and then you'll see a picture of it and probably follow the link to who carries it.

SS bolts thru the transom are fine. Much safer than screws. 3M 5200 comes in a tube and that IS "caulking".
