Need help troubleshooting - no power to instrument panel. Has power to trim up/down and can start motor, but no power to gas, rpm, volt gauges. This is on a 2002 21' Pontoon boat with 2002 50hp Mercury outboard 2 stroke. I've already checked all fuses under panel and all looks good. I know the speedometer works off the water pressure when outboard in gear. Radio, fish finder works and is powered by same fuse box. Any tips would be appreciated!

Sounds like the negative wire is not connected to the battery, the gauges have different positive feeds but usually have a common negative. The speedo is usually driven by water pressure not electricity.

I traced the neg wire from battery to fuse panel block and it is powering my cig lighter, radio and fish finder. So it got me confused why it is not powering the other gauges. Is there a separate neg wire that is going to my gauges?
