I'm restoring my father's 1963 18' Chieftan that I grew up with.
I would like to install a left seat opposite the pilot seat using the same pilot seat mounting hardware.
On that model year the pilot seat was hinged at the seat side and the seat back would fold flat on the seat, then the seat could be folded down flat to the side of the boat when the seat pole/prop was removed. This made for a clear open aft deck area if wanted. Two hing straps (U channel) bolted to the bottom of the seat and two U channel hing points mounted on the side of the boat. Also there was the pole/prop mounted on the bottom of seat and the seat pole/prop.
Would be happy to get the hing and pole hardware for the pilots seat.
The people on the Starcraft forum that have removed the Cabins from the Chieftans do you still have the pilot seat hardware lying around?
I would like to purchase.
Thanks Robert
