welcome aboard.

nothing man-made is reliable.

a 17 year old jet ski reliability is a function of its condition and maintenance.

80 hours in 17 years means the jet ski sat a lot.

what is the compression?
how it the impeller and wear ring?
does it look like it was garage kept or lift kept?
is the bilge clean or filthy?
how it the vinyl?

Hi...
My thoughts after being around a few 2 stroke Yamaha ski's over the years.
As far a the 2 strokes go...this particular model is among the better of them all. Being the 2007 late and last of the 1300r, it featured fuel injection and had less issues with things like carbs and especially power valves.
They were extremely powerful too. But, despite all this, they still require a top end rebuild every 100 hours to be safe and prevent serious failure. the other thing they were notoriously know for, was their almost ridiculous thirst for fuel. Although not quite as bad as the carb version..not too far off it. When I say they are thirsty...I mean to a point that you wouldn't believe.
Anyway...if it's a monster 2 stroke ski you are after...this would be the one to have. Some might argue that for the same price, you might find an almost as quick (top end) Yamaha fxho 4 stroke.
Anyway...all the above to consider and down to preference...but most important of all, is to perform a compression test on the thing. This will tell you if you need to budget a thousand dollars or two, on top of the purchase price, with it needing a rebuild soon. Even if she has strong compression, let it be known that before too long...it will require at least a top end rebuild for sure.
