Let me do a little research for you. I work at an electrical distributor. We are Square D in this area, but other branches around the country sell Cutler. I'll see what I can do.

Checked with all my local used suppliers with no luck. I did find a couple branches with new stock available.

Here's another idea:
Call some of the larger electrical contractors in your area and see if any of them have any used ones on their shelf. A lot of times they are saved from old panels and wind up sitting on the contractor's shelf waiting for a new home.

ndemge, I'll check my breaker cabinet in the morning. We change out boxes often in our stores. The contractor gives us the old breakers and boxes back for spares. Not sure if there is a 150/2pole breaker. If not I can check with my Cutler Hammer wholesaler on availability and price.

Had to replace my CH main too when the handle broke trying to shut it off for repairs. These are extremely hard to find, and very expensive, but the alternative is a NEW PANEL. Pay the price and buy a spare in fact

I work for an Electrical Distributor, though we don not carry CH.
You should call what we call a “BREAKER HOUSE”.
These folks sell ONLY breakers and sell both new and reconditioned breakers
I called one for you and they have both new for $100.00 and used for $80.00 in stock.

Its called… The Electrical outlet in Colorado
They take credit cards
There phone is 800-227-5731
I hope im not breaking any rules by giving this to you, I DO NOT WORK THERE

Only the big (125-150 amp) breaker should be hard to find. Cutler CH is top of the line stuff. Try an electrical distributor in your area. Wesco is a national distributor of Cutler products. You caould also try a Crescent Electric if you have one near you. Graybar is national as well, but they only distribute Square D. Even if a distributor doesn't distribute a particular brand, they will usually have some of the breakers on their shelves as "convenience" items for their contractors. The price may not be the greatest, but at least they will have them.

The Cutler stuff is great, it's just the "CH" line with the light brown breakers are expensive. Newer stuff is cheap. CH and Zinsco will cost ya some $ to expand. My sub is a siemens, $12 for a 150 amp for that guy, but can't use that as my main panel without a lot of other expenses..

Re: Need a culter hamer 150 amp breaker

They still make the CH stuff. It is their highrest quality (all copper buss). The "newer" stuff is Cutler BR series. They are a 1" format breaker, not a 3/4" like the CH. The BR are less expensive, but still good quality. They use aluminum buss in the panels to save money. The BR actually stands for Bryant, which is how that panel started out. Bryant sold out to Challenger, which was bought by Cutler.

Noel is dead on about costs. Try pricing out some Federal Pacific replacement breakers. Usually around $20 each for a standard single pole!

Re: Need a culter hamer 150 amp breaker

ndemge, In my shop stock I have a 150 amp, but it is for a main disconnect. It is the bolt in style.

Which FP breaker do you need. I still have some of the old double pole push-a-matic breakers. The push-a-matic style is all I have in the Federal Pacific line. Let me know if that is the style you need. Some times it pays to be a pack rat.... :p
