Rcupp..... Motor mounts are either okay and in one piece, or are broken so as to be two pieces. If broken, you would be able to push and pull the engine in a forward, backward motion... the portion of which area moves would be depending on whether the top or bottom mount might be broken.<br /><br />If you're speaking of a V/6 OMC engine, note that a broken motor mount will not cause the engine to shake from side to side (port to starboard etc). That problem is due to faulty splines at the bottom of the steering tube.
