I have a 2000 40 hp Johnson 2 stroke model #j40vlsi.(Mix oil in tank at 50:1 ratio)

Backgound on motor. The oil injection system was disconnected by the dealer at customer request before I bought the motor. I checked with dealer and they couldnt find anything wrong with injection system and motor is in like new condition. It just had its 20 hour check.

My problem is at idle in neutral or in gear motor dies. Ecspecially when trolling at very low speed or comming up to the dock at very low speed. It runs great at all speeds. Two of the troubleshooting tips in owners manual are carb mixture out of adjustment and fuel/oil mixture incorrect. I dont have a repair manual yet.I have cleaned the spark plugs and checked the gas filter. If it is the fuel mixture does anyone now how to adjust? Any other ideas I can try. Thank you.
