Go to the closest local airport in your area-(general Aviation), and ask the A&P mechanics if they would have any PROSEAL, and ask them if they would mix alittle and put it on your leaking area for you-(bring the boat, of course).<br /> This sealant is fuel, acid, oil, and of course water-proof. Make sure alum. is paint-free and roughed with say 100 grit sandpaper. Tell them an IA sent you and they should be glad to help!!!!! :D

JB weld is a good product, but not for aluminum. It is not a sealant and is not acid-proof, has no flex, and breaks down with heat. If the owner wants a band-aid fix....fine. If not, do it how I said, in the manner I have fixed countless aluminum aircraft components, and several boats of my customers-I've nevr had a return on the proseal.

Not sure if you have a Gander mountain or Cabelas but there is a stick called Alumaseal the with a torch will seal up holes on aluminum.
