Metal tab on Bellows

What is the purpose of the little metal tab on each end of the bellows. Don't they effect the seal when you tighten the clamp?

Ayuh,... It's a continuity tab...
No, it don't effect the sealing when installed per the manual...

Ayuh,... For galvanic protection of the SSteel hose clamp...
The clip bonds it to the housing...
