Mercury merc 110 9.8hp motor

How do I tell what year my motor is? Like I said it’s a Mercury merc 110 9.8hp. Serial number is gone. The is the motor cowl decal I have looked all over an cannot find it any thoughts?IMG_2407.jpeg

That Decal was used in 76 and 77. What's the Serial #?

Agreed----You can argue all day long.----But 76 and 77 were the only years for that style decal !

That’s the only one I could find with the decals that matched just had the wrong color. So thanks guys, I appreciate the help! All I can figure is the decal has faded over time.

Gummed up carburetor or the idle screw at the top of the carb just above the air intake might need a tweak. (Assuming it is the Tillotson carb)

Nate said in the initial post that the S/N is gone. Maybe the motor has a dark past :unsure:

When it was New, it looked like the one shown in Post #2

It is neat what Sunlight can do over a period of 45 yrs

Trouble shooting starts with a compression test.----Post your numbers.-----It will need a new impeller before your first fishing trip.
