We have a 1997 bayline with a mercruiser 5.7L EFI engine. It keeps throwing a DTC 14. We have traced the wiring from the ETC sensor to the computer and black ground that also connects to the MAP sensor to check for shorts. We have found nothing wrong with wiring. We also replaced the ECT(3 times)and MAP sensor and tested the Throttle position sensor. Nothing has made a difference. The boat basically runs ok at first (most of the time for about 5 minutes) when its cold, then when you go to throttle up the engine cuts out and won't throttle up anymore. The only thing we have found is that the we are getting 5 volts out of the ETC sensor which is to much, it should be below that. Please help we are stumped, could it be the ECM and is there anywhere where we can get the ECM test to see if it is what is bad? Thanks!
