How can I determine the HP rating of my Mercruiser?<br /><br />The serial number of the engine (from the plate on the carb cover) is;<br /><br />engine: 0f279614<br />transom: 0f327119<br />drive: 0f336102<br /><br />It also say's 5.7L on the carb cover.<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />DaL

260 Horsepower.

Thanks, that's helpful.<br /><br />Is that information coded in the S/N itself or is that just the standard HP for the 5.7L engine?<br /><br />DaL

From the serial number you gave that's the horsepower. They did make a 270 horspower but it was way back.
