2008 Mercruiser 5.0 tks with alpha one gen. 2 outdrive
Serial#: 1A322719

Replaced oil pressure switch yesterday due to bad leak through the switch (replaced with oem switch- no more leaking oul through switch)... but out today for test drive today and engine kept blowing a lot of oil from dipstick tube immediately after accelerating, with immediate drop in oil pressure, bit no overheating issues. This occured several times after checking and refilling missing oil- engine was wet with oil around dipstick. At start up oil pressure is 0-80 psi at idle, but It's a recurring problem - any ideas? Feedback will be really apprecited! Thanks!

80 psi is fine with cold oil.

Oil blowing out dipstick is excessive blowby

Do a compression test

Always been said low use is harder on mechanical stuff than high use. Compression test time.

ok... inspected further and oil is coming from around harmonic balancer pulley and being slung everywhere, so I'm thinking front oil seal. Anything on where to find seal replacement info./videos, because it looks pretty straightforward as far as replacment goes? Also, the seal itself is pretty expensive... any cheaper parts alternatives. Thanks guys.
