mercruiser 250 6 cyl. interchangable with ?....

I have a mercruiser 250 straight 6 in a 82'Mark twain. It has a cracked block. Will an automotive GM 250 6 cyl. interchange? If not, is there something that will? Thanks for your time!

Hi RMarlow,<br />Yes you can,But you have to transfer everything over. The IO engine uses race<br />grade bearings on the crank & cam. Put in a<br />new oil pump. Use a Marine Gasket Kit. Also<br />the marine carberator.<br />Some times a good welder can weld cast depending on where it is cracked. If it is <br />internal-forget it.<br />...good luck...corm
