Hi there I have a merc 90 3 cylinder 1996 which I have recently bought.
The engine pulls to 4-5 k but won't pull the boat out the water. So I assumed it was over propped so bought another prop. Still the same. New plugs and primer bulb. Still the same.
But took it out yesterday and tried at wot pressuring the choke / enriched and the boat kept out the water. Couldn't keep it held as it started to choke but if I pulse the choke it pulls very hard and runs like it should.
Thoughts please.
