Merc 50hp (500) 4 cylinder 1973 - gearcase seal kit needed (I think)

Hi

As per title really.

opened the gearbox oil drain screw, I didnt even get that milky white oil water mix. I got a glass of clear water with half a dozen blobs of oil in it so am thinking it needs the seal kit - is this correct

If so I need to get a complete gearcase seal kit to fit the 1973 Merc 500 (50 hp).

Does any one know the part numbers I need so I can check with dealers across the World.

Complete seal kits for that vintage of 50 HP were never available so your best bet is take your serial number to the BAM Marine site and look up the numbers yourself most will be available here if you choose to cross referance them.
