Merc 150 Fourstroke trim up intermittent when off? *Video* need input.

Trim was working great on my 2013 Merc 150 fourstroke.

Took the battery out for a month, then popped it back in today. The motor was stored in the up position.

Trim down was fine, trim up was on and off every second like a clock while holding down the button, then continued to click for a minute after finished.

Somewhat guessing but it must be a dirty contact somewhere. Key being on is giving it more power and going down requires less amps than going up.

My motor the relay steals power from the hot side of the starter solenoid. Look at and clean all contacts including ground.

Weird one.

Thanks for the thoughts- I plane to take off the plate and inspect tonight.
Battery started at 12.2 v. I had it on the charger for 2 hours, and still same behavior.

12.2 is to low but still doesn't explain why key being on fixes it.

Figured it out, though not exactly sure.

I had missed the dash/accessory grounds onto the battery, or because I only needed the trim, I might not have hooked them up. I don't remember. But that bundle of yellow wires. As soon as I look to the battery a second time, I realize there could be some sort of a loop jumping through something heading to ground on the other circuit through the motor, and it's probably something from my shift/trim controls.

Anyways, hooked up my yellow grounds to the battery and everything works perfect. Hopefully this can help someone else in the future!
