Measuring transom

Please be patient!! <br />When I measure the transom before deciding on shaft length....do I include the four inches of keel protruding below the transom?<br />Happy New Year from Ireland<br />Ed

PLease help?<br />I have an offer of an engine from a guy with one long shaft and one short shaft.<br />I lose engine if no-one replies to my above query.<br />Ed

Youre kinda in the wrong place but thats OK. <br /><br />Measure from the top edge of the transom to the bottom of the keel. If there is a step, thats OK. Still measure to the true bottom.<br /><br />And welcome!!
