Mariner Spark Plug Gap

Changing the plugs in my 1980 60EL 60hp Mariner. The Seloc manual says gap to be set at .025. The NGK plugs I pulled out were set at .040. I also have a Mariner manual but it does not give the gap. So, which is right 25 or 40

If you're puttin' NGK plugs back in and the .040 worked for the old ones, I'd gap the new ones at .040.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty
