hello and thanks for looking. i have i think a 86 mariner(boat is 86 model) 75 hp outboard sn A19901s on a 28' sanpan. shifts in to forward fine most of the time but everyonce in a while will die. when going to reverse it dies 95% of the time and when it dies it is hard to get back into nuturel. i dont have a tach on the boat to know what ideal rpm is but ive tried turning it up and it still dies. any ideas what it might be. ive read where old shift cables might be the cause. could this be it or is it sumthing in the foot binding up??????
