ok so i have determined that my mako 228 is holding alot of water....i checked the foam in several places and it seem ok...i think the problem is that while at my mooring the lowest point is not the transom bildge where i have my pumps...it seems to be in under the cabin or on the bow side of the fuel tank...i want to put a foward bilde in but i do not want to randoly start cutting holes...anybody know where good spot would be..thanks

i think the problem is that while at my mooring the lowest point is not the transom bildge where i have my pumps...it seems to be in under the cabin or on the bow side of the fuel tank...

Unfortunately, I doubt that's true. If it were, Mako would have installed a pump up there. I believe that the limber holes (which allow bilge water to flow back toward the transom) are likely plugged with leaves or other debris. In my 21' Pro-Line there was an access hatch in the cabin sole that I could use for storage, inspection, or to run a garden hose and flush the hull. I think it was centered, right beneath the v-berth where the porta-potti sat. In any event, that would seem to be a safe place to cut for a new hatch.

Hopefully an owner of the same boat will chime in. Good luck!
