Ok so I got a major coolant leak and I’m hoping it’s not a blown head gasket. I’m working on a merc 3.7 488, and recently I drained the coolant system to replace the seals on the heat exchanger and a leaking riser. Today when I went to replace the coolant, I put one gallon in and a few seconds after it worked its way through hoses; all of the coolant began to poor from behind the harmonic balancer. None of the hoses, riser or heat exchanger were leaking but all of the coolant leak from the top of the balancer. Initially I thought it may be leaking from the water pump weephole but that area was dry and again the coolant was pouring not dripping. Any ideas as to why this would occur.

The circled area in the photo is where it was leaking from to the right of the water pump. The Slater is behind there so I'm a bit confused as to where the leak is coming from

Most likely circulation pump needs replacement

I would pressure test the cooling water jacket
