I recently finished a 1 year resoration of a 1957 Trojan Sea Breeze with Mahogany deck, windshield frames, etc. The first time out in a hot sun, bubbles appeared under the spar varnish over the the entire varished areas!! It looks like it has a bad case of chicken pox. I guess it's back to stripping the whole thing and re-doing it again. Does anyone have any thoughts on what I might do better the next time?

Guys - use Burgess Woodsealer, visit http://www.woodsealer.co.im/marine.html

It's not too expensive, has a UV pigment in it, it's the easiest thing I have ever used to treat wood and the wood looks fantastic because it leaves the grain of the wood visible to eye and touch and it's non-slip!!

I don't know if they have a US agent in your area you may want to pursue that as this product will be used extensively in the future. You can even put it on damp, weathered wood like neglected garden benches and they look great!! Trust me on this product - it's superb and I don't work for them!
