LU Oil in bilge?

I've been smelling LU oil in the bilge on my twin Volvo Penta V8-300C. I traced the leak to the port side engine. Went to change the LU oil and it came out milk. So obviously have water coming in the LU. Question is if anyone has a diagram of how the LU oil would be flowing into the boat? Will it checked out by the shipyard to replace whatever is needed but out of curiosity, wanted to understand how LU oil would flow back in the bilge through the bellows.

Thank you!

Thru the input shaft seal. When you pull the drive, you will most likely dump a quart of water/lube emulsion from the bellows/u-joint area. You may need new u-joints as well

Thank you. It's been hauled out and the dealer is looking into it.

Just closing the loop. The dealer pulled the LU out and it was the input shaft seal that was failing over time. It had edged a black ring on the u-joint shaft where the gimbal bearing and seal were installed. They ended up replacing the u-joint shaft, gimbal bearing, carrier and input shaft seal. Bellows also.

Luckily all was covered under warranty due to the internal failure (not caused by impact or anything).

Thanks again Scott!
