I tried this in the Chris Craft forum without much response. Hope for better here.

I am looking for a Chris Craft that can handle Lake Erie, sleep 4, and has a fairly spacious deck. I would prefer a wood hull, 32-38'. I plan to dock this boat in the Cleveland area.

I had a boat picked out on the West coast, but shipping was more of an issue than I thought it would be.

Where is the best place to start searching? How do I hire a reputable person to survey the boat? Can I get something decent for $25K give or take?

Thanks

Check out these guys. They are extremely knowlegeable re: the older wooden boats. I love going to their showroom, it makes me feel like a kid in a candy store.:)

Look in Michigan. There are several of these boats for sale on craigslist all the time....some are ready to use others are project boats.

Have you checked out the Port Clinton and Marble Head area? Lots of brokers and boats in that area.
