Brand new FS18 with live well. How do I know it's working? I plugged it up, and added water into it, hit the switch and nothing happened. Any takers?

Also, my boat has an automatic bilge pump. Trustworthy? Any way to test it, because I cant turn it on or off myself.

Thanks.

Re: Live well question?

You need to test for voltage at the livewell aerator.

Yes, the automatic bilge pump it reliable, but you should add a secondary manual switch.

Also, you should post questions like this in the "Boat topics and questions" forum. You will reach a much larger number of viewers.

And that is where it's going.

Re: Live well question?

It really depends on what your livewell is designed to do. and by your saying you added water to the tank via a bucket. I assume your on dry land.

Most livewells nowadays recycle fresh outside water as water to aerate and replace the water in the live well. so if you turn your aerator on and nothing happens that would be pretty normal.
The old water just overflows out of the tank as new water is pumped in.

Old systems have a filling pump and a manual drain, no recriculation

The next step was to add an earation pump, that recirculated the water in the live well.
