Hi peep..me n ma lovely misses got a wee bayliner capri with a Foce 40hp outboard..got a few questions to ask bout it..

Anyone know what year it is?..model(408E92C)...serial number(015507)

Also like to know where we can get a reliable workshop manual for the engine..and have been told that this is a really thirsty engine fuel wise...is this really the case...as it seems to be to us..or does it just need a good service..also were does a standard muff flushing attachment fit on the engine??..any help is appriciated guys..

1992"c" model

Expect to use 4 gallons of fuel per hour at wide open throttle (wot) hopefully around 5500 rpm. 3 gallons per hour at 3200 rpm.

You can get a Clymer Force repair manual online.
Or a factory service manual on ebay.

Muffs don't fit the Force lower units very well, but the rectangular ones fit better than the round ones. They also just don't work well, better to put it in a tub of water. They go over the water intakes on the lower unit, just ahead of the prop.
