Im ready to perform a leak test on my tracker. The guy I bought it from said that it did leak. In order to begin the process, do I have to remove all the foam throught the boat. I noticed that some foam was loose under the floors. Attached is a pic of my main floor.
What is the correct way to fill the boat with water and monitir leaks. Please help me with instructions. Thx

Unless you already know where it's leaking, yes, you need to remove the foam....

Get a grease pencil & a water hose

Fill the boat to about where the waterline on the exterior is located when it's sitting in the water

Look under the boat

Mark any seams or rivets that have water leaking out of them w/ the grease pencil

Re-buck or replace any leaking rivets

Seal seams & rivets w/ Gluvit or Coat-it on the interior

Once cured, redo leak test

If done well, the repairs will all be fixed & no more leaks

Can I re use the same foam. How do I inspect the foam to make sure it's reusable.

You can if it is not waterlogged and the pieces come out large enough to actually be useful...most of the time foam sticks really well to the surrounding areas and comes out in little bits and pieces...big chunks can be reused and reset into place with more, new expanding foam.
Another option I have read about is to use the pink/blue insulating foam sheets from the home supply stores, some guys have used pool noodles and even empty plastic jugs...
Best of luck finding and fixing those leaks
