A buddy and myself on on our way down to the ramp and of course about a mile away from the launch, we hear a gunshot like noise and there goes the trailer tire. Being unprepared as usual he had no spare with him. We pull over and look at the shredded mess. We figured it was only a mile left to go and the sun was just starting to go down. We needed to get to the water. The tire came off and we were riding on the rim rest of the way to the lake. Sparks a flying. People actually asked us if we knew we had a flat. No kidding.

We finally get our vessal in the water and just about ready to start fishing. Another guy is launching his boat and this guy forgets to take the straps of his boat that are holding it to the trailer. We slowly backed away from the launch watching this guy backing farther and farther in the water and wondering why his boat is not sliding off the trailer. The back end of the boat is now filling up with water and farther back he goes. Pretty soon the entire boat is filled with water, water is well over the transom. He gets out of his older Suburban and doesn't seemed surprised at all. Just a couple shakes of his head and back to the truck he goes. He proceeds to pull the boat out. Imagine a 14 ft aluminum full of water and the Suburban having troubles pulling it out. There must have been 500 gallons of water in it. There was about a 4 inch lip on the concrete launch where some of the concrete had eroded away. The tires of the trailer hit this lip and stopped. The guy wonders what the problem is and hits the gas a little to get the tires up over the lip. As he hits the gas, the left side of the axle can't take anymore and snaps. The tire and rim are now sideways dragging behind the axle. The entire left side of the trailer is now dragging and scrapping on the ground as he is driving up the landing. There must have been a couple thousand pounds on that little trailer.

After watching this charade for about 10 minutes, we figured our flat tire problem was nothing compared to this guy. We went out after that and we have no idea how he got his rig back home. We were brought a spare after we got back to the landing. Dman
