Hey crew,

The wife and I will be making the trip from Vegas to Tahoe for Memorial day and we'll be taking our Baja with us this time. Have a slip reserved at Lakeside Marina so we'll be out on the water for most of the 4 days we'll be up there. I would love it if any of the folks that are familiar with the lake could give us some ideas of where to go, what to see, if there are beaches where we could anchor up and picnic etc. Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Pics for clicks.

Re: Lake Tahoe advice

Kemer1, Labor Day weekend? Any way your in for a real treat. I'm pretty dam new to boating. I bought a older 16 ft fiberglass Starcraft last year, first water experience ever. Having a blast! The wife and I were at Lake Tahie for the 4th. I rented a 18 ft open bow for the day and it was an awesome experience. Get a lake map from the marina, it will show you the area and fuel stops on the lake. There were several places with beaches to pull up to and hang. Make sure you get into Emerald Bay, with the small island and mini castle in the center of the bay. Great day on the water!

Good call, it is Labor Day. These 12 hour days and 60 hour work weeks have me in zombie mode. Thanks for the ideas. Emerald Bay was most definitely on the to do list. We were even going to see if they did tours of that tea house on the island. We just weren't too sure what else there was to do. We have 4 days to fill with activities.

If you can get onto the little island, you can get into the tea house. Mostly kayak's when we were close to it. They just paddle up to it, then head up the little hill to the house. Since I had a rental and am a nubee, I didn't want to risk damage to the boat. There is no docking area per say, if you can get on the island, you can get up to the tea house. Nice little beach area across from it at the far side of the bay. There is also a waterfall in that area also.
