Kohler 6EKOD starts at 62 psi. After an hour it's at normal operating pressure (~40 psi). As it runs longer, the oil psi starts fluctuating all over...from 45 to 20 back up to 35, etc.

Have changed oil, filter, cleaned/tightened electrical connections, etc.

Does Kohler have issues with pressure sensors that anyone us aware of?? (I plan to hook a gauge up down stream of sensor to compare it to sensor readings.)

Assume you’re using the proper weight oil for the temperature?

Looks to be a direct drive oil. Pressure should not fluctuate unless the oil is contaminated. Apparently the cycle is repeatable which rules out contamination

My money is on a bad diaphragm on your oil pressure sensor
