Talking to my sister yesterday, her hubby....we will call him crash (nickname given to him by his mother when he was a toddler)....was in a single car accident last week

he wasnt feeling good last week, and had a dry cough that day that would cause him to literally vomit.... (he was tested and does not have CV-19)

however on his way home from work with the company truck, he coughed so hard, started to vomit and see stars, he pulled to the right as he was coughing....... and took out a tree

she just sent me these

here is a link to the article: https://fox11online.com/news/local/m...GXuP8Fg7aet12E

here is a link to the video caught by a security camera https://burst.com/ftw8a83a

truck is totaled

Air bags and seat belts saved him from injury. the cold weather had him leaving the window up, or his arm would have been hanging out the window

his boss told him if he wanted a new truck..... all he had to do is ask.

other than a seat belt rash, he is fine. and is no longer coughing.

My first question was if he was OK, the second was did he have CV-19 that lead to the coughing.

She said there was video, I had to ask who would video the accident, she said it was a security camera

he works construction (concrete), however had being feeling crappy because its in the low 40's and raining most mornings lately.

im glad he is OK as well.

Thank God. That's tough. Sorry he's gonna' be sore for a few days, but that's a whole lot better than the alternative.

from the video, it took the cops 5 minutes to show up. the sheriff's department is 4 blocks away, the police department, only 7 blocks away

The cop house may be 4 blocks and 7 blocks away, but where were the patrol cars when the call came in? That would account for the response time.

Glad he's OK. The tree isn't.

one of the many bars since the donut closed down years ago?

yes, the tree came out roots and all

yes the bar-thing is a joke.... however at one point, Manitowoc was in the guiness book of records for the most bars per capita of any city in the world........ in the '70's there were over 60 active corner bars in the town of under 35000. now there are about half that number and 78000 people (still more bars per capita than any city listed on google searches)..... something about beyond professional status.

to this day, many corners still have 4 bars.

. . . and his mother named him 'Crash' when he was a toddler :noidea:

Glad he is OK. Cough syrup might have been a better remedy than an impact with a tree, but the syrup does take a while to work. :)

Glad he's ok, and I guess it really does prove that seatbelts save lives. Are they compulsory in the US yet? (have been here since the early 70's)...

Well yes, sort of. They are required everywhere in the US but the laws are written state by state so they vary.
