Greetings All Experts,
I need help. The motor sat idle for 10+ yrs. I've so far cleaned and rebuilt carb re-using old cork float(dropped in glass jar of gas, AOK). Used new needle valve and float circlip. (Old valve had no clip on it) Coils were cracked:replaced. Cleaned and checked point gap @ .020. New plugs @ .030. Used spark tester and open gap test, both good. Rebuilt pressure tank to achieve fuel flow and does hold pressure. Fuel in the bowl. Compression test:top 80 PSI,bottom 85 PSI. When spraying fuel mix through carb, no go. Sprayed into cylinders, ran for 2 or 3 seconds only. What am I missing? Set float as suggested by all literature. Questions I have: Could not replacing the condensers affect this? How can I adjust the float to at least get it running to fine tune it? I'm at the end of my rope. Still some nice weather left here in PA to catch some walleyes. Any help greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Donald
