Johnson 6hp to 8hp conversion

I have been told you can change a 6hp Johnson to 8hp by changing the carberator. Did I hear right? The motor is one I'm thinking of buying haven't seen it yet, but the picture I'm looking at looks like something from the 80s

G'day. There have been a lot of posts on this forum about doing similar conversions. Johnson 9.9 to 15. Evinrude 25 to 35. Mercury 75 to 90 etc. most replies seem to say the same thing, dont bother, its not worth the effort. I have done the conversion the other way, I fitted a carby from a Johnson 9.9 to a 15, the owner said that he did not notice the differance.

its the same carb, they, have interchangabl tops and foat bowls the aluminum part is the same on the 6 8 9 15 20 25 30 and 18 jet.
