I have an 02 150 and am in need of a crankshaft. I looked up the part # and it looks like a 175 crank will work also. i would like to know if this is correct. And also if anybody has a good used one for sale please let me know.

Thanks, Ryan

There's a lot of pros and cons about a reman c/s. You may want to check some of the other posts on this forum. Personally, I wouldn't have one. A good used one that meets all the micrometer specs would be much better.

Re: Johnson 150 crankshaft

A few years ago, I contacted a guy in Tampa area looking for a crank. He said he had a contact at Flagship that would work to get me a crank from them. I paid $550.00 for it, plus shipping, and Flagship dropshipped it to me. It came in a Flagship box, and the shipper on the UPS bill was Flagship.

It was beautiful. Until I began to look at it. Reman cranks have an electro-etched number on the upper counterweight. This one had such a number. So at that point I knew I had a reman crank.

I did not want, and I did not order a reman crank.

I called Flagship, they denied even sending the crank, the denied using reman cranks, and they accused me of switching the box.

I did none of those things. Be careful when buying a crank.

Thanks for the post. I know somebody at Flagship and will have to give him a call. The guy in Tampa could have also been playing some hanky-panky tho'. There's lots of scam artists out there.
