Is this clearcoat peeling or what?

I pulled my boat out of storage and on the upper part with metal flake it seems to be peeling in long narrow stripes.

Is this clear coat peeling, what would you recommend in removing this?

Ayuh,... I'd sand it off, 'n paint it...

I'm assuming that means wet sand and reshoot it with clear coat? I've never done anything like that before but from reading on here looks like maybe start with 600???

Will that damage the flake underneath? Thanks Bond-o!

No..I think what Bond-O is suggesting is sand/prep and Spray over everything with a solid color and be done with it..

Has this boat been resprayed before that you can tell ( look for tape lines ).

Its hard to say from your pic..but any failing paint must be removed.

At this point you need to see how much is just " coming off " and determine if you should just repaint the whole thing instead of " patch spraying " .
