Just bought a Four Winns Horizon 190 and am looking for a good "family" lake. We have been to CASS and Whitmore Lake. We enjoy Tubing/Swimming/Picnicing.

Looking for a nice inland lake that has a public beach as we tend to spend all day at the lake and the kids like to Swim and play at the beech.

Thanks for the help!!

We are in Livonia

This is a bit far from you but Gun Lake is on the West side of the state between GR and K-Zoo.

be very carefull on gun lake. it's shallow and it's a nuthouse!!!! boating etiquette does not exist there. If you're coming this far,I'd do gull lake, it's large, deep and patroled..

Mr Crabbs must of had a bad day on the lake. About 1/3 of the lake isn't over 6' deep. This means that the deep bays are rather busy. But there is still plenty of room to enjoy a nice day on the lake if you are careful.

You might want to try out Lake Orion, off M-24/Lapeer Road, not sure if it has a beach but it's one of the few lakes in Metro Detroit that is good for pleasure boating. In general I would say to look around in Oakland Cty, there seems to be more lakes of the type your looking for there.

Coldwater is very nice, there are two major sandbars, easy to see around 11:30 AM and after.
Take I-69 South exit @ Copeland Road. Turn Right to Old Angola Road, Right again to Warren, right again to Access Road, the ramp lot is on the left. :) Happy boating

come on up north and try the inland waterway...its a really nice chain of lakes and rivers..true its a drive for you...but most people that try it once come back every single year at least once a season.
