I am looking at 2- 30 H.P. Yamaha (both have long shaft, El. start, remote control with controls, tank and line one is a 95 and the other is a 97) $200. more for the newer one. Both have been checked out by dealer as O.K. Any advice. Good or bad I like to hear it. Thanks a lot and sorry for the screw-up

are they C 30's or 30's?
both types were very good and in the year range there were no changes, biggest issue is to keep the cooling system maintained and prop it so that with a full load of fuel, coolers and people it can turn 5300 or so.

You may want to consider a larger motor the 30 will be lucky to produce
12 to 15 mph.And be killing itself to do it.If you did a 40 or 50 it could manage 18 to 20 mph and be able to cruise at 12 or 15 loafing at cruise speed while using about the same fuel as the 30.
Regardless what you get be sure to prop carefully for max rpm.
