Tuned in with 15 laps to go. Gnarly wreck, dude was upside down, still skidding, sparks flyin, and he's opening his face shield.....wut????

All Honda and Chevy...when did that happen???? It was good to see AJ still up and about. Still love that vid of AJ bi**h slapping Arie Luyendyk. LOL

I got to visit the speedway in '13 I think. We were doing a job in Indianapolis and we had time to get out the track. It was mid-may and I remember driving on the backside of some bleachers, then I noticed the smell of race fuel......I rolled the window down and just took it in....ahhhhhh....yes! Then the sound of a race car going around the track...then the hair on my arms and neck stood up...like now. LOL Got to stand inside of turn 1 while the cars practiced and also visited the museum. That was awesome. Used to be a huge fan of 4 wheel racing (did a little myself) and when I was in school, the Indy 500 was the topic on the next day of school after the race. In the 80's I had a 5" black and white, battery powered TV and I watched the 500 on it at a campground once. I think Michael Andretti won that one. On the TV, I watched many NFL playoff games in a duck blind or in a boat many moons ago. I still have the TV and it still works!

Not to be a negative Nelly, but

Chevy, same as any other competitor, GM and Chevy has nothing to do with it. Cars, motors, drive train is nothing like anything in the real world. Would like it again if they went back to stock car

Ya great 👍 Finish glad Chevy got it😄
Whaddya make of that move by Pato on the restart with about 8 laps left? He was crying about it, saying he got pinched. To me, it seemed like a risky move at best. He faked to the outside and then quickly went inside, and I guess he thinks the guy in front of him is suppose to just be looking in his mirrors. There was 8 laps left and maybe a bit of patience was in order? But, then again, there was only 8 laps left, and the leader may have gotten a big lead. That was a "racing deal" that could've gone either way. So, Pato needs to stop crying about it.

The tire flying towards the stands was very scary. Good thing it flew into a parking area...
Xfinity is racing soon and Cup later on after they both were canceled due to weather the last couple days...

Depends on your point of view, I guess. I've been to 40 Indy 500s - every one from 1978 to 2017. I watched most of those on TV afterward on tape, dvd or DVR. So, I've seen a few things.

IMO, Ericcson chopped Pato and drove him off the track. Did an Earnhardt to him. Crappy move IMO. YMMV.

Doing an Earnhardt is a stretch, I think. IDK Ericcsons reputation as a driver, but we know what Dales was. I remember what he did to T Labonte at Bristol (2 times I think) when, late in the race he got new tires and caught the 5 car and everyone knew what was gonna happen...and it did. And in victory lane he said, "I didn't mean to wreck him I just meant to rattle his cage." Ya.... Labonte said, "have you ever heard him say that he meant to wreck someone?" LOL
I don't think Ericcson knew Pato was on the inside. I'm sure he wasn't looking in his mirror going into the turn at idk 160-180 mph? And running a guy into the grass in a full body car is a lot different than in an open wheel car. Ericcson could have just easily ended up on the hook.
Might have to pay attention to the next race and see if pato is gonna retaliate.

I wasn't a fan of dales in the late 80's and early 90's when I was really into racing. But, I went to the Daytona 500 in 93 and after watching him race in person, I came away with a new level of respect for the guy. Still wasn't a big fan, but that guy was something else.
