Hello community,

I have a Volvo Penta 5.7 Gi 2004 and when I crank, the ignition/fuel 15amp fuse keeps popping up.
I already changed it twice. I swapped the Ignition relay and the fuel pump relay with the spare relay, but the problem persists.

Any ides what could be the problem ?

My manual shows a 15 amp fuse for main power. Supplies 12V to injectors, Alternator and ECM

It shows a 20 amp fuse for fuel pumps

It is, and for most part it turns everything ON so labeling fuel is ok

It could be you have an issue with an injector, coil, alternator and several other things. Disconnect several things, turn ignition ON and start reconnecting one at a time

Just went through this. My issue was ignition wiring chafing on the block. If you find that with everything unplugged the fuse still blows, chase the wiring. In my case, it was the wiring to the alternator that was chafing the block.

Thanks horigan, i found the same issue !
Also then I realized the plate where those wires start, was not even screwed on the block. Any idea where it goes ?

No idea. Look for a mounting hole within reach of the wires.
