Hydra-sports 2550 performance and weight

I just purchased a 1992 Hydra-sports 2550 WA with twin 200 Johnsons. Would appreciate any comments on performance and sea handling abilities, such as cruise rpm, gph, and handling in various sea states. I know the engines are thirsty, but I can live with that versus a $30,000 to $40,000 repower. Any other areas worthy of comment would also be appreciated. Weight in Power boat guide is listed at 6240. NADA and one other 1994 pub. lists it at 5100. Any thoughts regarding the difference? Thanks

I believe they made a vector series(kevlar)and a sunbird twin.The vectors are very seaworthy.The sunbird is average,and are a little heavy with less deadrise.If hull is in good shape it might condone a repower,the 300 suzuki would be a good fit at 15000$.

I just bought a 1994 250 vector withtwin 2007 200hp etecs.. i cruise at 32 not and probably burn 16-18 gph or so. the hull is 3500 lbs per the hydrasports website spec sheet... the rule of thumb with older outboard is to take the horsepower, in your case 200hp/each and move the decimal 1 to the left. You are burning 20gph/motor at full throttle and probably 70%or 14gph/motor, at 4000 rpms. boat handles awesome

I purchased a 2550 wa with twin 99 150`s fichts and could not be happier.I live in the lower florida keys (Sugarloaf key) and see all types of different water conditions and the boat handles all of them beautifully.She has a very stable hull and just cuts through the chop.The weight is about 6135 lbs.for mine.If your 200`s run good why change them.This boat has no problem in shallow water and gets up on plane quick.She is a great dive,fishing and party boat.I hope you enjoy yours as i do mine.
