That's a New 1 on Me.... Sounds Really Messy......

Depending on their current condition,......
Replacement is Sometimes the Only Answer.......

What makes them stiff is the evaporation of the plasticizer. PVC in its basic state is very hard (PVC pipe). The plasticizer makes it flexible. The evaporation of plasticizer from a vinyl dash board is the film that forms on the inside of your windshield in your car. PVC (vinyl) plasticizer is not generally petroleum based like vasoline. Armorall is a plasticizer specific for vinyl. So if you took the windows off and soaked them in Armorall, it might soften them (I've never had a need to try this, so I'm only speculating it would work).

Vinyl;
* Never fold it, roll it up (avoid creasing).
* Only use water and a soft cloth unless you need a cleaner.
* Armor-all's ok.
* Paper towels will put fine scratches and eventually make them look 'cloudy'.

The best product for what you want to do id formula 303.You can get it at any marine supply store.It goes on and looks like armor all but is a world different.Zodiac corp. recommends it for their inflatables.Its not cheap,but it is the best.Keep this in mind as well.The thickness of the plastic will determine how stiff it is as well as the temperature of the air.I have a windshield extension that I had made for me out of sheet plastic.Looks like the stuff on the roll but it is thicker,clearer and stiffer.Charlie
