I'm messing around with a free hull I got and am new to this so bear with me.
After removing the decking, I discovered that water had entered between the outer hull and the inner hull and rotted the wood lathes uses in the original mold(leaks in outer hull have been repaired). Well, I've peeled off all the inner glass and took a putty knife to remove all the rotten wood lathes(this double hull arrangement is only in the rear 1/2 of the boat). I now have only the outer hull showing. My question is;
Can I just glass the new stringers to the outer hull and replace the decking or should I lay in new lathes and glass them down like the original?
A little history...this was a bass boat that I am gutting to make into a bay skiff. It had a 90HP on it but I am going with a 25HP tiller(real basic). It won't be fast but I do want it to be safe. Any advice or comments would be appreciated.
