I did a little research and your boat is very underpowered, they appear to be a 17.5' boat and they look heavy to me, probably rated for at least a 90-115 HP engine. I dont think the 30 HP will even get it on plane.

Hmmm. You have a problem, Johnny.

Let's say three people weigh 450lb.

Boat weighs somewhere in the 1300-1500lb range.

Engine, fuel, picnic baskets, tackle, etc. would come to, say, 250 pounds.

That's a 2200 lb package being pushed by a 30hp engine.

I calculate that it could theoretically reach 17mph if it could get on plane, but I doubt that it could get on plane.

Of course that is if all my estimates are correct.

I therefore agree with LD. You need a minimum of 50hp correctly propped and rigged to get to 22-23mph and on plane.

A 90 would get you into decent performance range at around 28.5mph and on plane.

Good luck. :)
