I found what looks like a great deal on a leftover 2001 Alumacraft Tournament Pro 175cs. I don't see many of these where I'm from - mostly Lunds. Only know what I've read and what the dealer claims. Anyone out there with first hand experience? I notice its heavier than similar boats of its size - double hull I guess. Any recommendations on the size and kind of motor to put on this boat? The dealer is pushing Yamaha.

That particular boat calls for 50 to 80HP, as far as what make, as you see in this forum everyone has their opinion on what brand you buy. So the make & mfr.opinion will go on & on. Aluma's are popular in the NJ area.If you think it is a good deal go with it.

Ahoy Buckeye! Welcome to the best boat board on the net.

Alumacraft are excellent boats. I have used a number of them supplied by fish camps.

I don't know what HP that boat is rated for, but I would bet that a Yamaha EFI 4 stroke 60 would be an excellent match for it. If you want more speed go to the max it is rated for.

You can't go wrong with a Yamaha, 2 stroke or 4 stroke.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)

Re: How About Alumacraft?

Thanks to everyone for their advice regarding Alumacraft. I'm very excited to have made my decision and ordered their Tournament Pro 175CS with a Yamaha F115. I'm pretty new to the boating side of fishing, having spent my first 40 fishing years mostly on the banks. Cant't wait to add this to those Father & Son Outings.

I'm also new to this forum - which is the first I've ever visited. Now I find myself reading it daily.

Thanks Again and GOOD FISHIN' :) :D :)

Hello,
Does anyone have anything to say about Crestliner or Princecraft boats? My father-in-law is looking at these brands along with Lund. Any comments or opinions would just make my day,
Thanks,
Little Bear

Howdy, Li'l Bear. Crestliners are good boats, so are Lunds. My guide on LOTW used Crestliners for years. The pros don't waste time and bux on junk.

Red sky at night. . .
JB :)
